Emma is a friend of mine and Ziggy's. She is a character in our book, Bringing Up Ziggy: What raising a Helping Hands monkey taught me about love, commitment, and sacrifice.
Here is Emma doing what she likes to do best--taking the top of off things, like this baby bottle. In the book you'll read about other things Emma can do; the things her mom taught her. She is very smart.
Brutus is a very special silverback gorilla. He lives at the Little Rock zoo. He is also a character in my book, and in my heart.
And finally we have Emily. I call Emily "Einstein" for obvious reasons. (She wants me to tell you, she is not sucking her thumb in this photo--it only looks that way.)
And if you came to visit me, this is what you would see hanging from the tree out front. I made it using sculpture wire, covered it in Spanish moss--fixed with fishing line--and used daisies for the eyes. Ziggy made "heh-heh" noises at it every day before our walk.

This is a photo of Sekani, a female gorilla at the Little Rock Zoo. My friend Ann, who works there, sent me this photo of the new baby boy. Here he is only a few days old.
Below he is 6 days old.
